Designed to offload the teeth-gnashing aspects of preflighting digital ads from the publisher to United Litho, fileWORKS® functions much like a service bureau for digital ads. ULI's digital prepress department will preflight each ad, create a PDF, test the PDF by sending it through InSite, output and reconcile an HP proof and store the file on a CD for return to the customer.

This new service offering fills the bill for publishers who are anxious to provide ULI with complete digital pages—and thus move toward a true PDF workflow—but don't want to take on the responsibility of preflighting digital ads themselves. By leveraging ULI's in-house expertise, fileWORKS® allows clients to control their digital ads without the headaches ... there are no cross-platform issues, no missing fonts, no reflow problems and no surprises!

fileWORKS® users will be able to place one PDF file for each ad and create complete pages that they're sure will work—making a complete PDF workflow much more accessible. They'll also be able to manage their own ad libraries and eliminate the "retrieve and place" costs associated with pick-up ads.
