My Mac fonts are a mess. How can I clean them up easily? If your fonts are scattered through more than one folder on your hard drive, I highly recommend checking out Font Agent by Insider Software. We use it at ULI to manage our font sets and have had a lot of success with it. It's designed to let you scan multiple drives or folders for fonts, moving them into a single location while scanning for problems or defects. If it finds both TrueType and Postscript versions of a font, it will allow you to remove the TrueType. It can also be set up to remove screen fonts above 12 points in size, freeing memory and disk space. When multiple screen fonts are in one suitcase, it can separate them into individual suitcases. See the screen captures below to see how easy the program is to use.
The program can be downloaded directly from Insider's web site for about $70. Note that the demo version functions well as a scanner for problems; the full version adds the ability to fix them.
