How do I import a Microsoft Word file into Quark and maintain styles? The trick to importing Microsoft Word files into Quark is to use Word's style sheets, while making sure that the names of the styles match those of the Quark file into which you're importing the text. The formatting can be completely different, but as long as the names are the same, Quark will allow you to merge the definitions determined in the Word file.
